Why senior mobility matters.
A decrease in mobility can have a significant impact on a senior’s wellbeing.
A mobility impairment has the potential to severely decrease the well being of an individual through isolation, fear of falling, increased bed-rest and dependency on others for simple tasks. Mobility problems include unsteadiness, trouble getting in and out of a chair or difficulty walking, and all of these can lead to an increased risk of falls.

Numerous studies show that seniors following a regular physical activity program can increase their functional mobility even when done as little as three times per week. Hello and thank you for visiting us! I started Functional Living in order to to help seniors age gracefully with mobility, vitality and quality of life. Having lived through a car accident that left me bedridden for some time, I have personally experienced the need for a down-to-earth fitness program that delivers practical results. I discovered my love for working with seniors while helping my 92 year old grandaunt (Tia) transition from her home into an assisted living facility. Helping my great aunt to meet life's daily demands, like getting in and out of a chair, with greater confidence moved me so much I decided to dedicate my life to helping seniors enjoy their golden years.
